Robbie Amell Signs On To Play Firestorm On The Flash
By Nick Tylwalk
It seems like new announcements about heroes joining the casts of DC’s TV shows on The CW are coming multiple times a week right now, and another big one was delivered today: Firestorm is going to be a recurring character on The Flash.
At least Ronnie Raymond, the human host of Firestorm during the Silver Age, will be. TV Guide reports that Arrow star Stephen Amell’s cousin Robbie Amell has signed on to play Raymond, who will work at S.T.A.R. Labs, be engaged to Dr. Caitlin Snow and have “an integral part” in the origin of Barry Allen’s Flash.
Of course that doesn’t mean we’ll see Firestorm right away, but that particle accelerator accident seems like it will give birth to more than just the Flash, so why not a hero with matter-rearranging powers as well? It also helps when executive producer Greg Berlanti makes statements like this:
"Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) — and to actually have someone with Robbie’s talent playing the role is beyond exciting."
Now if you see that someone has been cast as Martin Stein, you can be sure we’re going to see the Nuclear Man at some point.
We just did a wish list for DC heroes who could appear on Arrow; maybe it’s time to work on one for The Flash as well. Watch for Amell as Raymond when The Flash debuts on Tuesday, October 7.
