Marvel Bumps Death Of Wolverine #1 To 56 Pages
By Nick Tylwalk
It’s scary to think about how most comics went from $2.99 to $3.99 so quickly, and the $4.99 price point is looming over all of our wallets just ahead. Still, if you’re going to pay $5 for a new comic, it would be nice if it was significantly bigger than the normal monthly fare, and that will be the case for Death of Wolverine #1, which will hit stands at a hefty 56 pages.

To be fair, it’s not all story. Much of the extra page count will come in the form of bonus features, including interviews with the likes of Wolverine co-creator Len Wein and a look at how penciller Steve McNiven, inker Jay Leisten and colorist Justin Ponsor worked together to take the first chapter in this tale from script to finished product — and by the way, you can see some of the steps in the process in the images below.
That’s still better than paying extra dough for a standard-sized comic, and Death of Wolverine issues also come with special etched foil covers to boot. All told, those are some compelling reasons to consider parting with an extra Lincoln when the first issue goes on sale on September 3. Just make sure you lift it with proper posture when you pick it up.
