SDCC 2014: Lego Ultimate Collector Series Batman Tumbler To Debut In San Diego

Call it the Tumbler, the Batmobile, or just a bridge-laying military prototype that was converted to help Batman fight crime (and got painted black at his request), but the vehicle that Christian Bale drove in the Dark Knight trilogy is pretty darn cool. Lego must think so too, as it’s bringing the Ultimate Collector Series Batman Tumbler to Comic-Con this week so fans can get a look at it before it goes on sale in September.

More from Conventions And Shows

The Tumbler comes with Batman and Joker minifigures, and as USA Today points out, it’s the first Joker minifigure designed to look like he did as portrayed on-screen by Heath Ledger. You’re going to need some money and patience to add it to assemble it and add it to your collection, though: it’s going to retail for $199 and the set contains 1,869 pieces.

The Lego set-up at SDCC should be popular for comic fans for other reasons too. Along with a giant model of Rocket Raccoon and Groot, the booth will have a show exclusive Guardians of the Galaxy set featuring Rocket and his Warbird and minifgures to give away that include The Collector.

As for the Tumbler, you’ll be able to look at it in San Diego, but you’ll have to wait two months to buy it at Lego stores or at shop.lego.com.
