Three Cast Members Exit Ant-Man
By Steve Lam
The Ant-Man production roller coaster just keeps on going. Deadline brings us news that Patrick Wilson, Matt Gerard, and Kevin Weisman have left the project. From past history with this property, everyone is speculating that the three left because they’re disputing the exit of former Ant-Man director Edgar Wright. But no, there’s actually good reasons why the three had to suddenly leave. Gerard’s and Weisman’s leaving are due to their now non-existent roles in the new script. Wilson’s is due to a scheduling conflict because of Ant-Man‘s production delay.

The movie has had its fair share of drama for the past few months ever since Wright dropped out of the film. It seems like the cast is shrinking faster than Ant-Man himself. But the movie still retains its leads of Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, and Evangeline Lilly in an unknown role. Though it’s no doubt that Lilly will be a love interest, you can’t help but speculate that the love interest will be Wasp. I mean, what’s Ant-Man without his trusty Wasp?
A target release date of July 17, 2015 has been set and it will be the inaugural movie for Phase 3 of The Marvel Cinematic Universe.
