Gotham “Movie Trailer” Has Cinematic Feel
By Nick Tylwalk
The latest trailer for Gotham is only 60 seconds long, but its “Movie Trailer” title is fitting, as you could easily envision it as a teaser for a movie instead of a Fox TV show.

It starts with the pivotal moment in the origin of Batman, with a young Bruce Wayne witnessing his parents’ murder. The clip returns to Bruce several times, showing him “testing” his limits and listening to Jim Gordon reassure him that “there will be light” again in Gotham City someday.
Speaking of Gordon, he gets up close and personal with Oswald Cobblepot, who frantically tries to tell the detective that there is a war coming, complete with “rivers of blood.” As other villains rise, Jada Pinkett Smith’s Fish Mooney makes no bones about the fact that she sees an opportunity amid the chaos. And the last scene is great, with a hint of why Cobblepot will eventually take the name Penguin.
Watch the trailer yourself, but be warned: it says it’s only approved for “lawful citizens of Gotham City.” The battle for Gotham City begins on Monday, September 22.
