Another Day, Another Villain Cast On The Flash: Greg Finley To Play Girder
By Nick Tylwalk
It’s pretty exciting to see new casting announcements for The Flash, as the new CW show looks like it will be delivering a ton of familiar faces to face off against Barry Allen in just its first season alone. The latest villain to join the fold is Tony Woodward, a.k.a. Girder, who Zap2it says will be played by actor Greg Finley.

It sounds like the TV version of Girder will be pretty faithful to his depiction in the comics, where a S.T.A.R. Labs experiment tainted the molten vat of metal Woodward was thrown into — he had it coming, as he had just attacked a female co-worker. On The Flash, his abilities sound the same, though it will be the particle accelerator incident that first transforms him.
Girder isn’t one of the classic Rogues, but he did end up joining a newer incarnation led by Blacksmith during Geoff Johns’ time on the comic, and since Johns is also involved in the show, it’s only natural that we’ll see some of his creations mixing with Barry Allen’s old school foes.
Look for Finley to appear in the sixth and seventh episodes of Season 1, which will likely be in November since The Flash debuts on The CW on October 7.
