We’re Going To See The Absorbing Man In The Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Premiere
By Nick Tylwalk
Or at the very least, we’re going to see Carl “Crusher” Creel, played by Patrick Wade from Teen Wolf. And since Marvel.com says he will have the same power set that he does in the comics — namely, the ability to absorb the properties of anything he touches — he’s the Absorbing Man whether they choose to call him that on TV or not.

Creel will be a pretty serious threat to the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gang since they’re only human (except for Skye, maybe), and the Absorbing Man is a guy who’s gone toe-to-toe with the Hulk and Thor. I’m guessing they’ll tone him down a bit for the show. In the comics, Creel’s origin involves Asgardian magic, and since Asgard is well-established in Marvel movies and TV, that could be the case here too. I don’t see any ball and chain on Wade, but maybe he’ll at least help us all forget about this.
Here’s one thing we already know about Season 2: all the viewers who felt there weren’t enough direct comic book references and characters until the second half of last season aren’t going to have the same complaint this fall.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for its Season 2 debut on Tuesday, September 23, at its new time of 9 pm.
