First Look: Gwen Stacy Is Spider-Woman In Edge Of Spider-Verse #2
By Nick Tylwalk
We’re not talking about the Earth-616 Gwen Stacy, who I’m pretty sure is still dead, or any of her clones. This is a Gwen from an alternate world, but not one immune from the reality-spanning threat of Morlun, one that is going to require all spider-powered characters to come together to try to turn it back.

Edge of Spider-Verse #2 looks in on a Stacy with all of the qualities that made her a fan favorite before her untimely demise — except that this version of her also happens to be strong enough to lift cars and agile enough to keep the streets of her New York City safe as Spider-Woman. She just has to keep her secret safe from NYPD Police Chief George Stacy, her disapproving dad. And she’s about to encounter a situation that changes her perspective on her crime-fighting career.
“This story sees Gwen at a real crossroads of her life,” writer Jason Latour said in an interview with Marvel.com. “Spider-Woman is wanted for a crime she didn’t commit. So whereas her life in costume before was a lot of adventuring and fun, she’s now being forced to decide what it means to her.”
Latour is joined by artist Robbi Rodriguez for Edge of Spider-Verse #2, and you can see his depiction of this exciting take on Spider-Woman (and Greg Land’s variant cover) below while we wait for the finished product to arrive on September 17.
