Looking to attend a comics convention and get away for a few days? The Malta Comic Con might be the answer to your dilemma, given that it’s held on a Mediterranean island and packs in all of the comics, movies, gaming, cosplay and panels you’d expect from a con.

And while the show is put on by Wicked Comics and dedicated in part to the Maltese comics scene, it also draws creators from throughout Europe and the U.S. To that end, Malta Comic-Con just announced Dave Taylor (Batman: Death by Design and the upcoming Doctor Who comic featuring the Peter Capaldi incarnation) and Christian Ward (Dr. Spektor, The Infinite Vacation, Young Avengers) as the latest additions to its 2014 lineup.
Malta Comic-Con will take place on November 29 and 30 at St. James Cavalier in Valletta, and while tickets for this year’s event are not on sale yet, they shouldn’t bust your budget, as the 2013 early bird price was just 12 Euros (currently about $16) for a two-day pass. There are also surprisingly affordable accommodations packages starting at 105 Euros (just under $140) for a three-night stay at a hotel in the tourist town of Bugibba that include transportation to and from the convention center.
Vacation and a comics convention sounds amazing. Hey bosses, any way I can write this off as a work expense?
