Liam Neeson Wants to be Ra’s al Ghul Again in ‘Arrow’
By Skip Harvey
Liam Neeson was our first ever live-action Ra’s al Ghul, and if he got his way, he’d be the only one. Last month at Comic-Con, it was announced that the villain in season 3 of Arrow was to be al Ghul, and MTV asked Neeson if he’d been approached for the role.
"No, I haven’t, I haven’t at all."
But here’s where it gets interesting. When asked if he would consider taking it…
"I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah. Very much so."
I find that a little surprising, but he must have really enjoyed playing the character. Sadly, DC is determined to separate their TV and movie universes. Also, they seem towant to distance themselves from the Nolan era films and start over. It’s unlikely they would resurrect (pun intended) Neeson’s version at this point, but I would be totally behind it. He would bring some much needed gravitas to a show like Arrow. If I were the showrunner, I’d beg the WB to let me take a run at him. The ratings alone would justify the move.
