The Tick Returning On Amazon With Original Star, Creator
By Nick Tylwalk
The Tick was a pleasant surprise for me as a young lad, a black-and-white super hero parody by Ben Edlund and New England Comics that I found really funny. It later became an animated series too.

If you don’t remember its turn as a live-action show in the early 2000s, it might be because it was canceled after only nine episodes. But according to People, The Tick is on its way back thanks to Amazon, where it will reportedly have original star Patrick Warburton in the lead role and Edlund as producer and writer.
Sounds good, right? The only downside is that it could disappear even faster this time. IGN reports that the show would be part of the Amazon test pilot program, where it would only go on to film more episodes if Amazon customers vote to say that they like it.
That ends up being one of those good news/bad news situations. It would be great to see Edlund return to his creation, and if Warburton is really going to star again, that’s great too. Alas, if it’s only for one pilot, that would be a cruel tease. Guess I’ll have to help get out the vote if Amazon is really doing this.
