Constantine Finds Its Jim Corrigan — And Maybe Spectre
By Nick Tylwalk
Digital Spy reports that Irish actor Emmett Scanlan is the latest addition to the cast of Constantine. He’ll play Detective Jim Corrigan, who apparently will have no trouble deviating from the book when it comes to his police work.

Of much more interest to comic fans is the fact that Corrigan served as the human host to the Spectre, DC’s ridiculously powerful, often vengeful ghost. The people running the show told IGN back in July that the Spectre would likely show up, and that they had figured out a way to work Corrigan into the story if they could get the approvals. Obviously, they got them.
Unfortunately for Corrigan, the majority of the stories through the decades that end up with him becoming the Spectre involve him dying first, so while you can expect him to pop up in the fifth episode of Constantine, don’t be shocked if he ends up getting killed off. Don’t worry though — he’ll be back in some form.
No word on whether or not the producers are still looking for someone to cast as Percival Popp, the Super Cop …
Constantine debuts on NBC on Friday, October 24.
