Argentine artist Julian Totino Tedesco did the work on this variant cover, which is limited to 3,000 copies and will be free to all VIP attendees at Wizard World Austin Comic Con. The show takes place from October 2-4 at the Austin Convention Center, and Totino Tedesco is one of the artists scheduled to be there.
The variant cover program with Marvel has been running all year long, with artists like Neal Adams, J.G. Jones, David Mack and Mike Grell all contributing variants to different Wizard World events during 2014. Totino Tesdesco’s skill at composing eye-catching covers has also been on prominent display this year, as he did the main covers for the recently concluded Original Sin event.
“Julian Totino Tedesco is one of the best cover artists in the industry, Marvel SVP David Gabriel said in a press release. “Seeing each of his covers for Original Sin come in each month was a joy and we couldn’t be happier with his Wizard World exclusive variant cover to the final issue of Captain America.”
Wizard World Austin’s guest list also includes comics creators like Adams, Ethan Van Sciver, Kaare Andrews and Bob Layton, as well as pop culture celebrities such as Katie Cassidy (Arrow) and the WWE’s legendary Undertaker.
