Warner Bros. and DC revealed today that Batman: Arkham Knight will make its way to PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 2, 2015. Assuming no further delays, that will put it in the hands of gamers almost four years after the studio’s last entry in the series, Batman: Arkham City (as Batman: Arkham Origins was developed by WB Montreal), but given that it’s the first game Rocksteady has produced for eighth-gen consoles, maybe it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that it took a long time to do properly. It’s still a bit of a bummer, though, as an awesome-looking segment of gameplay was available for closed door hands-on play this year at E3.
Joystiq also reports that Arkham Knight will come in two different special editions: the $100 Limited Edition, which includes a Batman statue, an art book and three exclusive New 52 skins, and the $200 Batmobile Edition, which swaps out the Batman statue for a Batmobile statue that switches between modes just like the ride in the game.
Since it’s not that common for big time video game releases to hit during the summer, Arkham Knight has a chance to rule the hot months of 2015. Look for much more on the game here on BSP leading up to the launch.
