Negan Coming To The Walking Dead TV Show … But Maybe Not For a While
By Nick Tylwalk
Want to see more villains on The Walking Dead TV show? One of the nastiest we’ve seen in the comics is Negan, the violent, potty-mouthed leader of the Saviors.

And it appears we’ll see him on the small screen eventually. In a recent interview with AMC, executive producer David Alpert said that introducing Negan was one of the things he most looked forward to doing:
"It’s more like things in the comic that I can’t wait to get to. I cannot wait until we introduce Negan. He is just like the coolest f—ing character on the planet. You thought the Governor was bad news?"
Alpert went on to insinuate that Negan was worse than the Governor and that he was “one of the greatest villains ever created.” That’s high praise indeed.
Ah, but there’s a catch. As Cinema Blend reports, Robert Kirkman has said before that he doesn’t think Negan might appear until “somewhere like season 12.” Just in case you’ve forgotten, the show is only going to be starting Season 5 next month.
So unless Kirkman was just saying that to downplay expectations, it could literally be years until Negan is around to plague Rick Grimes and company. That should give him plenty of time to get that barbed wire baseball bat ready.
