Scott Glenn To Play Stick On Daredevil
By Nick Tylwalk
“Wait,” you’re saying. “Scott Glenn is a good actor. I enjoyed his work in The Bourne Ultimatum and The Silence of the Lambs. Won’t he be wasted playing a stick and not having any lines?”

Ah, but Glenn isn’t playing a stick, he’s playing the man known as Stick, best known as the person who teaches Daredevil how to fight. And he can talk, but what he can’t do is see, and the fact that he’s developed a proximity sense to compensate makes him a perfect sensei for the sightless Matt Murdock.
“Stick is one of the most important figures in Matt Murdock’s life and Scott Glenn embodies all the qualities of someone so integral to this hero’s journey,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television on Marvel.com. “There are few actors who could bring such the authenticity, gravitas and charisma to such a key role in Matt’s journey to become the super hero we call Daredevil.”
In the comics, Stick is known for his tough love approach to teaching martial arts, as well as being the leader of a group called the Chaste. We’ll see if either of those traits carry over to Glenn’s performance when Daredevil, which also stars Charlie Cox as the titular hero, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, hits Netflix next spring.
