The official red carpet premiere of Gotham was last night, and it was held at an interesting location: the New York Public Library.

Like us, you probably weren’t invited to attend. But you can recreate some of the atmosphere the attendees experienced in the form of some Gotham-themed cocktails.
See, as occasionally happens as these kind of events, The Hollywood Reporter says that a room at the Public Library was transformed into a replica of the bar owned by Fish Mooney, the underworld boss played by Jada Pinkett Smith. Along with what sounds like some top quality food, guests got to sample special cocktails inspired by the show.
Note that I don’t know the proportions, so you may have to experiment, but that’s half the fun when it comes to adult beverages. In any case, for the 21-and-over crowd, you can try making:
- Gotham – whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters
- No Redemption – tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice and thyme
Gotham debuts for the rest of us on Monday, September 22. There’s still time to practice your mixology before it gets here.
