Spider-Man Unlimited: I’m Getting Tired Of Nick Fury Yelling At Me
By Nick Tylwalk
I’m having a lot of fun with Spider-Man Unlimited, as is Daniel Wood, editor at our Spidey-specific sister site Whatever a Spider Can, which is why we’ve both been posting about Gameloft’s latest Marvel mobile game quite a bit.

But one thing I’m getting tired of is Nick Fury yelling at me all the time. It’s like he thinks he’s in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. or something.
I know that Nick is used to doing that on the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, but there one of the central conceits is that Spidey (and other Marvel heroes, for that matter) are young and need to be shown the ropes. That isn’t the case in Spider-Man Unlimited, where all of the alternate dimension Spider-Men appear to be fully grown.
To be sure, the wall-crawler does give Fury a hard time too, but that’s no excuse for coming at me like this:
Hey Nick, didn’t Mrs. Fury ever teach you about the magic word?
Also, Spider-Man is probably one of the most self-critical, guilt-ridden super heroes ever created. So I already feel bad enough failing a mission without Fury piling on like this:
Lighten up man! I’ll go on your mission again, as many times as it takes until it gets completed and the people are saved. You’re welcome …
