Top 10 Highest Grossing Super Hero Movies Of All Time

6. Spider-Man – $403.7 million
Tic tac toe, three Spideys in a row! The oldest movie on this list, I think it tops $500 million if released today with no prior movies featuring Peter Parker and another decade of computer graphics technology at Sam Raimi’s disposal. Easily.
That’s a testament to two things: one is that Spider-Man is just plain popular, and that’s not likely to ever change. Do him justice, like this movie did, and you’ve already won half the battle.
The other is that while Andrew Garfield is great casting for the web-swinger now, so was Tobey Maguire back in 2002. He looked like a scrawny semi-loser, which is exactly how Parker should look. Add in some good action sequences and Spider-Man’s trademark quips in the face of danger and you’ve got yourself a winner.
It didn’t even matter that they gave Green Goblin that ridiculous battlesuit look. Think about that for a minute: they made the villain look kind of silly and the movie still turned out fine. That’s a good super hero flick.
