Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Is Out Now
By Nick Tylwalk
Call this one of those friendly reminder posts. But just in case you forgot to circle the date on your calendar (my kids’ mnemonic device of choice, even though it’s old school), Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) is now available at fine video game retailers everywhere, and for just about every video game platform out there.

Why should you care? Well, presumably you’re a fan of comics and super heroes or you wouldn’t be on this site. This new version of Disney Infinity brings characters from the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man corners of the Marvel Universe and incorporates them into a new version of the already successful game, utilizing figures that make cool collectibles in their own right.
The three Play Sets are like their own unique games where you can only use the corresponding heroes (though some, like Iron Man, can cross between them). And they can all be used together in the Toy Box, the free-form building mode that allows you to create your own virtual world from tons of Marvel and Disney backdrops and items, then share it with other gamers. Toy Box has received a number of improvements since the first version of the game released, and I’m anxious to play around with it.
We plan on having a full review of Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes here on Bam Smack Pow later this week, naturally focusing on things from a comic book fan perspective. For a review right this second, allow me to engage in a bit of nepotism and recommend this one by Max Parker of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
If you’ve already got the game in your hands and have had a chance to try it out, let us know what you think in the comments section or on our Facebook page.
