Harley Quinn Scratch-n-Sniff Annual will be Popular with Stoners
By Skip Harvey
Harley Quinn Annual #1 has been announced to be “scenticular” comic–scratch-n-sniff for those unfamiliar. It will feature 4 mystery smells including leather, suntan lotion, pizza and…weed.
This is what comic writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner had to say about the 4th smell of the book:
"“This is definitely a book that you will get you going back to in your box of comics,” Palmiotti said driving the point home, “and you might be taking it out now and again to smell it again. You might want to bag it, you know?”“…To keep the smell contained,” Conner continued despite us totally getting it, “and then when you do, bring your thing of oreos.”"
From DC’s solicitations:
"We have to warn you, readers: This issue stinks! Seriously! Like, unpleasant odors are literally in the story! In this first-ever HQ ANNUAL, take a trip to Harley’s home of Coney Island in a groundbreaking “scent-ticular” issue, featuring actual, honest-to-gosh smells. This issue comes polybagged to contain the stench."
But the book isn’t just about glaucoma treatments or pizza smells.
"The issue finds The Joker’s ex-girlfriend, who now lives in and manages an apartment building in Coney Island, heading back to Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum to rescue her friend Poison Ivy. While there, something happens that causes Harley and Ivy to go on four mini, smell-related adventures."
Sounds like DC is trying to have fun with Harley as a character. Kinda like their version of Deadpool. The annual issue goes on sale October 29th and runs about $6.
