Sam Wilson has already taken over the mantle of Captain America from his good friend Steve Rogers. But is he really ready for all that the job entails?

We won’t have to wait long to find out. All-New Captain America #1 sees Wilson take the first steps — or  flying leaps, since he’s still got his wings — toward putting his own unique stamp on the legacy of Captain America. And it’s coming on November 12 from the team of writer Rick Remender and artist Stuart Immonen.

It’s not going to be an easy first few weeks on the job either, not with Hydra having sunk its tentacles so deep that it’s even managed to infiltrate the Avengers. What is the organization’s ultimate goal, and how is it preparing some of Cap’s oldest foes to strike at the new Captain America and Nomad?

Whatever the answers to those questions might be, rest assured that Sam is going to tackle the challenges with his own style.

“I’ve been having a lot of fun writing Sam,” says Rick Remender in an interview with Marvel.com. “It’s a completely different attitude. The fact that he’s not a soldier shifts thing up a bit. Sam’s not going to be Steve. Steve can be very rigid. That can be kind of joyless at times, whereas Sam is absolutely not that.”

While we wait for All-New Captain America #1 to hit stores and digital next month, take a first look at some of Immonen’s pages, as well as variant covers from Alex Ross, Skottie Young and Kris Anka, the last one featuring a very enthusiastic volunteer to replace Sam as the Falcon.
