First Look: The Goddess Of Thunder In Action In Thor #2

So we saw the new Goddess of Thunder in Thor #1, but all she really did was pick up Mjolnir (impressive as that might be) and transform into Thor. We don’t really know if she can kick enough butt to live up to the job description.

It looks like we’ll find out in Thor #2. With Malekith the Accursed leading an army of Frost Giants to invade Earth, Thor Odinson did his best to stop them without his hammer and got his arm handed to him for his troubles. The new Thor will have to charge into action for the first time, but will she be enough to turn back the darkness?

If she isn’t, this could end up being a short series. Hopefully it lasts long enough for us to find out just what it was that made Odinson unworthy in the first place. There’s also something else, but I can’t remember … Oh yeah, we need confirmation of who the new Thor really is under that new helmet.

We’re not likely to get those answers in Thor #2, but Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman are looking to make it an exciting ride anyway.
