Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor in The Suicide Squad?

As you know, Jesse Eisenberg is the new cinematic Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Now, since DC is taking the Marvel route and crossing over as many characters in its shared universe, the planned David Ayer-directed Suicide Squad may be adding the big baddie. The film is already seeking big name actors like Will Smith and Tom Hardy to the cast, but it currently has no big name DC characters to appeal to those who are unfamiliar. The inclusion of Luthor would certainly fill that void appropriately, especially since The Suicide Squad is composed of villains and anti-heroes.

For those who don’t know, The Suicide Squad is a team of ragtag misfits and generally bad (or crazy) incarcerated people (and a few heroes) who are granted special considerations for going on dangerous black-ops missions for the government. The squad is overseen by Government Liaison Amanda Waller, previously seen in Green Lantern. I guess that means another re-cast for the role.

Here’s a list of previous members of the team in recent years:

"Amanda WallerCaptain Boomerang (George Harkness)CheetahDeadshotJames Gordon, Jr.King SharkHarley QuinnThe Unknown SoldierBlack Spider (Eric Needham)El Diablo (Chato Santana)VoltaicYo-YoBlack MantaDeadshotDeathstrokeJoker’s Daughter"

The book is also an excuse to use B and C list characters from the DC stable, as you can see.

Suicide Squad is aiming for an August 2016 release.
