Spider-Fans prepare to freak out as Spider-Man and Mary Jane “Renew Your Vows”
By Travis Ellis
Real quick update for anyone and everyone. Marvel has released another Summer 2015 teaser, this time it’s a small tease for Spider-Fans called “Renew Your Vows.” Remember how I said – Brand New Day pretty much ended the marriage of Mary Jane and Peter as well as get rid of his future kid? Well, what if I was completely wrong and that never happened?.
In actual storyline continuity Peter’s marriage to Mary Jane ended fairly badly, their daughter who MJ thought was still born was kidnapped by Norman Osborn and never seen again. Following that Peter completely undid his marriage in a deal with the devil that would bring back his deceased Aunt May in what was effectively a reboot.
Could this be what Dan Slott. fresh out of the Spider-Verse, was on Twitter assuring Spider-Fans that they’d freak out? The next event in Marvel’s 2015 blow-up-the-world-with-important-updated-stories-craze. We’ve already seen a Civil War tease, as well as several that we haven’t reported. Our Sister site Bam Smack Pow has a pretty good list!
It seems likely this was what Slott was referring to because he’s changed his his twitter profile picture (to the first ever Spider-Marriage cover photo in Amazing Spider-Man Annual 1) and his twitter cover photo showing off the very first look at the cover of the Renew Your Vows arc. He posted a twitter update as well so I’m sure it’s something big when the current writer says “Your Next Spider Freak Out is on it’s way.” Oh, and he confirmed it on Twitter as well!

I’m not really sure what to think of all this. I always wanted Dan Slott to bring back the family. But this has me concerned. What does it mean for Peter’s new life, how is this even happening? Why do I feel like this is such a low blow, almost like you’ve taken away my favorite candy bar for years and now all of a sudden with my love for it pretty much diminished and destroyed completely, you’ve given me back hundreds of these candy bars and it’s like do I even care anymore? I’m not sure what to feel about this. It could be a sad day, it could be a happy day. I have always wanted this to be a thing.
I’m curious to see what you guy’s think about it let me know!
