No Co-Op In Arkham Knight

Despite Batman being painted as loner, he often teams up with others, be it his vast array of potential sidekicks or his various superhero friends. It’s also common these days for video games to have some form of multi-player, especially in big-budget AAA games. But you won’t be seeing any multi-player in next year’s Arkham Knight, as it’s meant to be a solo Batman experience.

During a recent livestream about making Arkham Knight “the ultimate Batman simulator”, developer Rocksteady studios talked about why the game won’t have co-op:

"We’re making a Batman game. For us, that means getting the player to be the Batman. It’s a single-player experience where you get to pick up the controller and wear the cowl and be that guy. So there won’t be any co-op."

Makes plenty of sense, although I wouldn’t mind a seperate co-op mode where you can team up as various characters in the Batman universe and take on bad guys. Arkham Knight was unfortunately pushed to next year, so we’ll have to wait until at least June (the current month set for release) to see if it is indeed the “ultimate Batman simulator” when it comes to PS4, Xbox One & PC.
