Top 10 Greatest Avengers Of All Time

3. Thor
Along with being one of the backbones of the team, Thor is one of the few Avengers who makes a real difference simply from his mere presence. When the God of Thunder is on the scene, it’s a big deal. Take Civil War, for example, where his arrival partway through the story threatens to tip the whole balance of power in the conflict. Infinity is another good example, where Thor struck the blow that meant the Avengers and their allies weren’t backing down even in the face of daunting opposition.
Part of that, of course, is because of his raw power. Only Hulk can rival or surpass him in terms of raw strength, and he’s got Mjolnir and his command of the weather to boot. When the Avengers are up against their most dangerous foes, their chances of victory increase significantly when Thor is around.
Thor’s love for Midgard and its people is well documented, and his many stints as an Avenger are a testament to the fact that he’d sacrifice anything for beings he could easily see as beneath him. He’s one of the first names that comes to mind when fans start discussing iconic members of the team, and the only reason we gave him the bottom rung on the “Trinity” of team legends is that he doesn’t have much of a track record of leadership, which is a bit surprising when you consider he will someday rule all of Asgard.
