First Look: A Cross-Time Team Assembles For Avengers: Ultron Forever

If any of the Avengers’ foes is going to live forever, it’s going to be Ultron. His efforts to rid himself of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes never seem to work out exactly the way he wants, but time is clearly on his side.

We’ve already seen him ruling the future, and in Avengers: Ultron Forever, we’ll learn how the past, present and future members of the Avengers have to come together to stop him. Written by Al Ewing and with art by the great Alan Davis, this story will play out across three oversized specials that are all coming next April.
“If I had to pick one word to describe this story, ‘epic’ would be it,” Ewing said while speaking with Marvel.com. “It sort of builds and builds, until by the third issue you’re experiencing cosmic-scale war between … but that would be spoiling it.”
And the team Ewing has put together is like none you’ve ever seen before: the present day Black Widow and Vision, Thor from his battle armor days plus the new Goddess of Thunder, James Rhodes when he was Iron Man, Hulk and a grown-up Danielle Cage. It’s got the look of a fun group, but one that will have to learn how to work as a team quickly to take on Ultron.
