‘Gotham’ Ratings Watch: Fall Finale Edition

As you know, FOX’s Gotham has seen a steady decline in ratings since day one (though FOX still sees it as solid). Last week the Batman-less prequel saw an uptick of ratings for the first time in weeks. Cautiously, we were optimistic that the series had turned a corner and finally stopped its freefall. How did Gotham fare during its fall finale? Turns out, it was almost exactly the same as the week before.

"Final broadcast primetime ratings for Monday, November 24, 2014  (Live + Same Day) :TimeNetShow18-49 Rtg/ShrViewers (millions)8:00NBCThe Voice (8-10PM)2.6/79.60ABCDancing with the Stars (8-10PM)2.5/714.87FOXGotham2.3/76.05CBS2 Broke Girls1.6/56.85CWThe Originals0.6/21.268:30CBSThe Big Bang Theory – R1.5/46.719:00CBSScorpion (9-10:29)1.9/59.28FOXSleepy Hollow1.4/44.28CWJane The Virgin0.4/10.9610:00ABCCastle (10:15-11:15)1.7/59.55NBCState of Affairs1.5/45.78410:30CBSNCIS: Los Angeles (10:29-11:29)1.5/58.82From tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com"

These numbers were adjusted after the actual airing because the civil unrest in Ferguson, MO skewed the samples. The grand jury decision was announced right as Gotham was set to show, so ratings in St. Louis were especially misleading. The final numbers, after the adjustment, were matching and a little higher than last week’s. Considering the circumstances, I’d say that no change is good news. I certainly hope this means the show has stabilized a bit. The reviews were favorable and that seems to be a direct correlation to the viewership. Crazy, huh?
