Dying Man’s Obituary Reveals He Was Spider-Man
By Nick Tylwalk
Turns out it wasn’t Peter Parker after all, but Aaron Purmort of Minnesota. Using some humor to bring light to a very unfortunate situation — Purmort recently passed away after a battle with cancer — his obituary contained the following passage:
"Purmort, Aaron Joseph age 35, died peacefully at home on November 25 after complications from a radioactive spider bite that led to years of crime-fighting and a years long battle with a nefarious criminal named Cancer, who has plagued our society for far too long. Civilians will recognize him best as Spider-Man, and thank him for his many years of service protecting our city."
I’d like to think I could sneak in a witty comics reference under the same circumstances, but I kind of doubt it. Thoughts go out to his family and friends, and hopefully someone will take up his example of selflessness and assume his role of Spider-Man of the North, even if it’s just in a figurative sense.
