Batman Villain to Appear in ‘Batman v Superman’?
By Skip Harvey
Awesomely dated Batman villain the KGBeast may be showing up in Batman v Superman. Anatoli Knyazev recently appeared in an issue of Aquaman and the Outsiders in an attempt to update the Cold War era character, and that may just be a warm up to what’s coming. According to sources that spied the Chicago filming of BvS, Knyazev’s name appeared on a trailer along with other characters in the film.
There’s a good chance the DC brass is trying to wedge KGBeast into the cinematic universe since he’s often been tied to the Suicide Squad, which will be getting its own feature length next year. It’s hard to say whether he’s going to be a pivotal character or just more background noise like so many in Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight films. A version of the character is portrayed in Arrow as Oliver Queen’s Russian sidekick, and he recently appeared in Assault on Arkham, so someone obviously has an affinity for the guy.
