Geoff Johns praising of Jon Ostrander’s Suicide Squad run, which was about 70 issues in the late 80s and early 90s, might be a good indicator of what the upcoming movie will be based around. He also did an 8-issue miniseries in 2007 which featured many of the characters that will be in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. Of course, Geoff Johns may not be hinting at the basis for the movie and is simply looking to promote one of his favorite runs on the comic in conjunction with announcement of the film’s cast. Either way, excited fans may want to start getting a read on those comic, which are currently available on Comixology. We’ll found out when the Suicide Squad movie releases on August 5th, 2016.
