Geoff Johns Tweets That Titans Pilot Shoots In 2015

Warner Bros. and DC have a lot of balls in the air when it comes to TV right now. Arrow, The Flash, Gotham and Constantine are already on, with iZombie on the way in early 2015. Supergirl and Krypton are in development for CBS and SyFy, respectively. And how about that Titans show for TNT? That’s coming along too, as Geoff Johns took to Twitter to announce that the pilot will shoot fairly soon.

When asked about the show, Johns didn’t hesitate:

With no casting announcements or other details as of yet, the guess would be that the show wouldn’t actually show up until 2016. TNT doesn’t follow the standard seasonal cycle for the networks and many cable channels, so if Titans gets ordered to series, it could debut at just about any time.

Johns did confirm that Nightwing is one of the members of the team, and earlier reports indicated that the series would be inspired by Marv Wolfman and George Perez’s classic run on New Teen Titans during the 1980s. That means we could see the likes of Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven and Wonder Girl. It’ll be interesting to see if the show features Cyborg, as he’s been moved to the Justice League since DC’s New 52 relaunch a few years ago, and Kid Flash, as Warner might feel one speedster on TV is enough.

In any case, it’s yet another super hero show to look forward to, and proof that there will soon be zero nights a week where something comic book-related isn’t on television.
