Michael Keaton Says He’s Batman
Despite apparently not caring much about Batman a couple months ago, when recently asked if he shared any of Christian Bale’s jealousy towards Ben Affleck taking over the role of Batman, Michael Keaton responded in a way that would make one think he cares more about the role than he previously let on.

"No. Do you know why? Because I’m Batman. I’m very secure in that."
So clearly Michael Keaton is pretty confident that he is the definitive Batman. He went on to praise Burton’s work on the 1989 Batman film in which of course Michael Keaton was Batman and also talked about how different superhero films are today.
"Tim changed, or started, everything. And I’m proud of the choice I made, in terms of how to play Batman. It’s probably easier now because Tim paved the way, and if I did anything to pave the way, I’m proud of that, too. I’ve never seen [a superhero movie] beginning to end. Oh actually, I saw the first Spider-Man – I thought that was really good. You can step into it more easily now, is my guess. Technically, [superhero movies] do everything for you. They create a world where all you’ve basically got to do is show up, not f*ck it up too much and you’ll come off OK."
Of course looking at the successful recent Marvel films & the at least financial success of Man Of Steel it might be easy to say that, but it’s also ignoring high profile flops like Green Lantern, the Fantastic Four Films, the Wolverine movies and of course the most recent Spider-Man film underperformed to the point that it’s most likely getting completely rebooted yet again. But nevertheless you can certainly make the argument that Michael Keaton is the standard-bearer to judge all the Batmen who came after against, which he certainly believes.
