‘4D’ Batman Ride Coming Soon

Sadly, no, it’s not a ride that travels through time. I was immensely disappointed by that. Instead, The new Batman ride coming to Six Flags will feature multiple movements as it terrifies its passengers.

The new attraction begins at the iconic Monarch theater, site of the Wayne murder…which I find a tad creepy. But I guess it’s the full Batman experience.

From the LA Times:

"After ascending a 120-foot-tall vertical lift, riders will undulate over two hills while flipping forward twice before diving over a beyond-vertical raven drop. Following a reverse flip, riders will spin backward while falling over another beyond-vertical raven drop before executing a final forward flip. The weak-stomached need not apply.Aided by magnetic kickers along the track, the Batman trains will spin freely based on gravity and the weight distribution of the cars. Based on rider feedback, Fiesta Texas can increase or decrease the amount of spinning by adjusting the kickers."

Dear Gods, I’m dizzy just reading that. The ride replaces the old 1992 MotoRama Turnpike attraction because the park is moving away from its famous ‘Rockville’ theme. It removed a few other features that pertained to the rock n’ roll motif and set up the Batman ride remarkably close to its Superman-themed ‘Krypton’ coaster. Speculation has begun that the entire park will shift themes to encompass a DC Universe concept.
