Uncanny Avengers Teaser Shows New Look For Quicksilver
By Nick Tylwalk
Just to give us all something to think about over the holidays, Marvel released the following teaser image for the new volume of Uncanny Avengers that starts up next month. It came with this tag line: “From The Ashes, a New Team of Avengers Assembles.”
That’s Quicksilver wondering aloud, and he appears to be sporting some new threads. The core concept of Uncanny Avengers isn’t changing — that is, the team will still be a mix of Avengers and mutant heroes, and it’ll probably still be called the Avengers Unity Squad — but the roster is getting a complete facelift. Along with Quicksilver, Sabretooth (who may or may not be calling himself Wolverine at that point), Vision and Brother Voodoo are joining. Captain America remains, except it’ll be Sam Wilson instead of Steve Rogers, with Rogue and Scarlet Witch as the only true holdovers.
As to what the “your entire life was a lie” bit means, your guess is as good as mine. Unless Marvel is planning on revealing that Pietro and Wanda are really Inhumans and not mutants to match what we see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe … No, surely not, right?
We’ll have a chance to see what Rick Remender and Daniel Acuna have up their sleeves about a month from now.
