Wizard World Portland Features Adams, Claremont, More Comic Creators
By Nick Tylwalk
The Wizard World Portland Comic Con is bringing two certified comics legends with it when it rolls into the Oregon Convention Center January 23-25.
Neal Adams and Chris Claremont headline Wizard World’s second stop on its 2015 schedule, which is also its third annual trip to Portland. Adams, an influential artist famous for his work on Batman, Green Lantern, Avengers and more, will appear all three days, while Claremont, the godfather of the modern X-Men, is slated to be at the show on Saturday and Sunday.
The remainder of the event’s roster of comic creators is also impressive. Kurt Busiek, Ethan Van Sciver, Christos Gage, Arthur Sydam, Paul Gulacy, Julian Totino Tedesco and Dean Haspiel are just a few of the names that appear among the 130 artists and writers expected in Artist Alley. The show’s pop culture guests also have a definite comic-related vibe, as Arrow star Stephen Amell and both Ming-Na Wen and Brett Dalton from Agents of SHIELD are among those scheduled for appearances.
All fans attending Wizard World Portland Comic Con who purchase a full-price ticket (either single-day, three-day or VIP passes) will receive a special, limited edition variant of The Walking Dead #1. All VIP attendees will get an even more limited black-and-white sketch version of the same cover.
Full ticket and guest information for Wizard World Portland can be found at WizardWorld.com.
