Did Jeremy Renner Just Tease Hawkeye On Agents Of SHIELD?
By Nick Tylwalk
Clearly, Jeremy Renner is teasing us about something. Here’s what the man who plays Hawkeye tweeted this morning:
Of course he can’t tell us why, as that would spoil part of the fun. Unless you’re one of those fans who enjoy spoilers, in which case you probably wish he’d just come right out and tell us why he’s picking up his bow again.
Now mind you, it could be that Renner has been summoned for reshoots for Avengers: Age of Ultron. I could easily see him in a mid-credits or post-credits scene that ties into Captain America: Civil War, and it’s possible that Joss Whedon and company have not filmed those yet.
A much more fun possibility, though, would be Hawkeye showing up in an episode of Agents of SHIELD. It would make perfect sense, given Clint Barton’s background with the organization in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fact that Bobbi Morse (a.k.a. Mockingbird) is a member of Phil Coulson’s team — and longtime fans know that Barton and Morse have plenty of history together in the comics.
Or maybe they just need to scan Renner in full Hawkeye gear for toys or merchandise or something. I choose to believe it’s for Agents of SHIELD just so I can say I told you so when he shows up. And if we go the rest of Season 2 with no Hawkeye, I can simply trash this post and act like nothing happened.
(Just kidding. As far as you know.)
