Rumor: Has Titans Found Its Nightwing?

facebooktwitterreddit

Titans is the currently in-development show for TNT based on the comic book Teen Titans. Not much is known about the show at this point beyond centering around the character of Dick Grayson as Nightwing and also having long time Teen Titans members Starfire & Raven. Now rumors are circulating that the show may have already found its Nightwing.

This is admittedly more based on pure speculation than anything else, but Vampire Diaries actor Steven McQueen is leaving the show. No particular reason was given for his leaving, but McQueen has campaigned heavily in the past to play Nightwing in some capacity. What gives this rumor a little credibility that McQueen is at least going for the is role The Vampire Diaries showrunner Julie Plec implying that he might be too busy as a superhero to come back to the show:

"[McQueen] will always be welcome to join [The Vampire Diaries] for important events — unless [McQueen] finally gets his wish to play a superhero and he’s unavailable."

Again this is mostly rumor based on fan speculation so for now take it as such, though McQueen would probably be a good fit for the role. One more interesting thing to note is that TNT is a subsidiary of Time Warner, so it makes for a possibility of Titans, Arrow, Flash and the upcoming Supergirl series all being in the same universe and having crossover events much like Flash & Arrow already do. Titans is currently in development and the pilot is supposed to start shooting this year. We here at Caped Crusades will continue to bring you the latest news on Titans as well as all things Batman!
