Simply put, the February 2nd episode of Gotham will be called “The Fearsome Dr. Crane”. If that wasn’t enough to tell you that it’s about the Scarecrow, the plot of the episode centers around James Gordon, back at GCPD as a detective, investigating a “a killer who targets victims with severe phobias”. That definitely sounds like the Scarecrow. We don’t really have any other details (such as who will be playing Dr. Crane) just yet but odds are as the is the first appearance of Crane, he will just be himself and won’t turn into the Scarecrow until somewhere later down the line. Either way, be sure to tune in February 2nd to catch your first glimpse of Gotham’s interpretation of Batman’s scariest foe.
Update: We now also have a synopsis for the episode, which seems to deal with several stories and apparently Dr Crane will actually be the father of Jonathon Crane, the man who becomes the Scarecrow, but we could still easily see a young Jonathon Crane in the episode:
"Fish Mooney reveals a secret of Oswald Cobblepot’s, prompting Maroni to take him on a trip to test his loyalty. Meanwhile, Gordon and Bullock hunt down a killer who targets victims with severe phobias and Bruce Wayne confronts Gordon for failing to make progress on his parents’ murder case in the all-new “The Fearsome Dr. Crane” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Feb. 2"
