Marc Guggenheim Talks Brick In Arrow Left Behind Video
By Nick Tylwalk
With Oliver Queen missing and presum—ed dead on Arrow after his swordfight with Ra’s al Ghul didn’t go so well, his friends and teammates are going to have to pull together and decide if they can carry on without him. At the same time, it’s only natural that criminals might notice that Starling City is without its hooded protector and start thinking a little bigger, right?

It sure looks that way, beginning in the very first episode after the winter break, “Left Behind.” The CW posted a new video with Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim explaining how a new player in the Starling City underworld, Danny Brickwell, is going to be the focus of the series’ first trilogy of episodes.
Known simply as Brick in the comics, Brickwell is played by actor and famed tough guy Vinnie Jones. It doesn’t appear that he’ll have any superhuman powers on the show (in the comics, he has a leve of invulnerability to physical damage that his name would suggest), but that’s not going to stop him from taking measures to consolidate power in Starling City while Arrow is out of commission.
We expect Team Arrow will rally, whether it’s with Diggle filling in as best he can for Oliver or Arsenal stepping up to a bigger role — or most likely, both of those things. Laurel Lance is also continuing her training as a vigilante under the guidance of Ted Grant, and she might be forced into the Black Canary role sooner rather than later.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. See what Guggenheim has to say about “Left Behind,” which heads our way Wednesday, January 21 on The CW.
