There Will Probably Not Be A Suicide Squad TV Show…

The Suicide Squad movie is coming our way next year, but of course we’ve already had a live action Suicide Squad for awhile. On the CW show Arrow, there is a Suicide Squad lead by an Amanda Waller and comprised of some of Arrow’s rogue’s gallery including Bronze Tiger, Shrapnel & Deadshot. Cupid, an evil archer who has a dangerous attraction to Arrow, was also recently assigned to the Suicide Squad. There had been interest in a spin-off show featuring the Suicide Squad, but apparently the movie has now killed any solid chance of that happening.

Actor David Ramsey, who plays Diggle on Arrow, said the CW had interest in a Suicide Squad TV show at SDCC last year. But recently, Arrow season 2.5 co-writer Keto Shimizu said it seemed more likely that such a spin-off would now only be in comic book form because of the movie.

"Yeah, I imagine so. And as heartbreaking as that is, and as much a lot of us would like to see a Suicide Squad TV show exist, in light of what’s happening in the film world, it doesn’t seem like it’s a possibility."

The reasoning this behind there being that Warner Bros, is apparently not too keen of having multiple versions of characters in other media (except for The Flash, apparently as there is both a TV Flash and a movie Flash) and while that makes some sense, it seems like a lost opportunity as a Suicide Squad TV show would’ve been awesome.
