'Batman v Superman' Promo Image? Meh.

Last week the Hong Kong International Licensing Show brought companies from all over the world to tease their stuff. Here’s some background from their website:

Ok, I could see how this would be a hotbed for teasing, oh, let’s say a superhero film. At the event a new promotional image allegedly surfaced for Batman v Superman. Here’s a look from JoBlo:

They seem convinced that this is the real deal, but there are conflicting opinions on Twitter as to its legitimacy. Personally, this doesn’t seem all that official. Not only is this just a mashup of previously released promotional images, but it’s affected by common Photoshop filter. And a crappy one, at that. My graphic design professor would have blown a casket if I had turned this in as real work. For reasons like that, I think we should be suspicious.

It’s a guarantee, however, that we will see real photos out in the coming months. DC will want to remind audiences that Marvel isn’t the only company making movies, so expect things to come out around the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
