Arrow Season 3, Episode 10 Synopsis – Left Behind

What’s worse for Team Arrow finding out that Oliver Queen is dead? How about hearing the news from Malcolm Merlyn?

More from TV

Of course we know that Ollie isn’t dead, or at least he won’t be staying that way. The problem is that Felicity Smoak, John Diggle, Roy Harper and Laurel Lance don’t know that, so they’re going to be faced with life without their leader and friend in the first new episode of Arrow after the winter break, “Left Behind.”

Other heroes are about to take their first steps as well, so maybe it won’t be too bad in Starling City once the criminal element realizes the Arrow isn’t around. Maybe. Let’s see what the official synopsis for “Left Behind” tells us:

"In the aftermath of Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) fight with Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Arsenal (Colton Haynes) continue to protect the city in the Arrow’s absence. However, after three days without hearing from Oliver, they begin to fear the worst may have happened to their friend. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) refuses to believe that Oliver could be dead until Merlyn (John Barrowman) pays the team a surprise visit. Thea (Willa Holland) suspects there is something more behind Oliver’s disappearance and asks Merlyn for a favor. Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) tests a part of his new suit and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) takes up the mantle of the Black Canary."

I have a feeling that Laurel’s transformation into Black Canary is going to happen a little faster than we’d like, though the producers are promising it won’t be a smooth ride for her. It’ll be nice to see Roy get a chance to step into the limelight, as Arsenal has been mostly a background player this season save for the time when he briefly believed he had killed Sara Lance.

Tune in Wednesday night at 8 pm on The CW for the long-awaited return of Arrow, minus the Arrow himself. We’ll have our recap and review on the site as quickly a possible, and we’ll be checking out the Arrow After Show later that night to see what hosts John Campea, Ann Campea and Kaori Takee think of the new episode.
