X-Men: Apocalypse Finds Its Storm, Jean Grey And Cyclops
By Nick Tylwalk
Looks like we have three of the younger versions of the main X-Men cast for X-Men: Apocalypse, and they’re being played by some of the names rumored to be in the running all along.
Director Bryan Singer took to Twitter to announce the news himself:
That settles that. Let’s run the new mutants (pun slightly intended) down:
- Shipp has had movie roles in several sequels, and was a regular on the Nickelodeon series House of Anubis, where she played KT Rush. She’s perhaps most famous, or infamous, depending on how you view it, for portraying the late Aaliyah in last year’s Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B TV movie.
- Turner is a Game of Thrones regular (unless she’s been killed off since I typed this!) as Sansa Stark. The 18-year old actress doesn’t have much film experience, though she has three movies due out this year.
- The most impressive resume belongs to Sheridan, who earned several film critics awards for his work as Ellis in Mud in 2012. He’ll be everywhere in 2015, including parts in Scouts vs. Zombies and The Stanford Prison Experiment.
It didn’t take long for fans on Twitter to begin voicing their pleasure and/or displeasure with the choices, but we knew we were getting fresh faces for Storm, Jean and Cyclops, and that’s what we got. Drop us a comment below or hit our Facebook page to let us know what you think.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set for a May 27, 2016 release.
