Following on from Part One of our ‘In Requiem’ series which featured Iron Spider, House of M Spider-Man and others, Part Two which focuses on Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends and Part Three which looked at the 2099 Spider-Men  here’s an in depth look at the next Spideys that died in the Spider-Verse. This time from Edge of Spider-Verse miniseries – Not a lot of dead spideys here!

Dr. Aaron Aikman: Edge of Spider-Verse #3

Aaron Aikman saw that his city needed a hero. Using his genius he altered his DNA to give him the abilities of a spider. His greatest enemy, Naamurah ,turned out to be the daughter of his ex-girlfriend, Dr. Kaori Ikegami possessed by a force from some other dimension. He never defeated Naamurah as he was killed by Morlun.

[Editor’s Comment] Or is Aaron Aikman dead? I still think there’s a chance he’s alive as we didn’t actually see Morlun kill him!

Patton Parnel :Edge of Spider-Verse #4

Simply put, Patton Parnel was a creep. An inversion of everything that makes Peter Parker a hero. Raised by an abusive uncle, Patton tortured animals and spied on the girl next door. During a field trip to Alcorp an experimental spider bit him. Parnel gained the abilities of the spider, but also its hunger. He started eating small animals and then cannibalized several people including his uncle, his bully, and a young boy. He lured Sarah-Jane to his house with the intent of mating with her. Revealing his new form as a monstrous spider-creature, he attacked and bit her. Before he could do anything more, Morlun interfered and killed him. Sarah-Jane thought she got away safe, but from the bite came hundreds of baby spiders.
