Super Bowl Bet Between Star-Lord, Captain America For A Good Cause

Star-Lord and Captain America are usually too busy saving the world, the galaxy or all of reality to watch football. I couldn’t even tell you if they have favorite NFL teams. But the men who play them in Marvel’s hit movies, Chris Pratt and Chris Evans? Those gents have very strong rooting interests in this weekend’s Super Bowl, and after needling each other on Twitter, they’ve come up with a fantastic bet on the big game — one that will ensure two worthy charities are the winners.

Here’s the gist of it: if the Seattle Seahawks win on Sunday, New England fan Evans has to appear at Seattle Children’s Hospital in full Captain America garb and wave the Seahawks’ 12th Man flag. If the Patriots prevail, it’s Pratt who has to do the traveling, showing up at Christopher’s Haven in Boston as Star-Lord but with a Tom Brady jersey under his duster. Both stars are also competing to see who can raise the most money for their respective charities on Twitter.

ABC News has an excellent profile on both organizations and the lengths they go to in order to help sick kids and their families. How can you help? To participate directly in what the actors are calling “Twitterbowl 2015,” you can support Team Pratt and the Seattle Children’s Hospital or Team Evans and Christopher’s Haven with direct donations. If you’d rather not show any favoritism between Peter Quill and Steve Rogers, TeeFury also has a special t-shirt for sale right now with proceeds split between both charities.

Don’t sit on the sideline for this one. Support the men behind two Marvel heroes in this worthy cause, and you’ll feel even better about the Super Bowl on Sunday, regardless of who wins.
