Amy Pascal to produce new Marvel/Sony joint Spider-Man film
By Daniel Wood
Amy Pascal’s reputation was cut to shreds by the Sony hacking scandal as her brutally honest, blunt and sometimes quite rude emails were leaked into the world wide web for the general public to see. As a result Pascal would step-down from her high-ranking, high-profile position as Co-Chairman of Sony Pictures, in what seemed like a punishment more than anything else.

Instead Amy Pascal was going to start her own production company bankrolled by Sony and would have absolutely no more say in how Sony Pictures should be run. This meant that it seemed she’d have no more control over Sony’s slate of films like James Bond, or the Spider-Man film franchise.
However the recent Marvel/Sony deal allowing Spider-Man to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe has revealed that Amy Pascal still has some semblance of control over the Spider-Man film franchise, despite not being Co-Chairman anymore, because she is going to co-produce the Spider-Man films going forward, alongside Marvel’s Kevin Feige.
So much for being punished!
