Check Out The DC Comics Icons Figures Coming Later This Year
By Nick Tylwalk
Would a line of DC action figures from all periods of the company’s comic book history interest you? How about if said figures were based on the art of Ivan Reis?
Yeah, I figured that might get your attention. Toy Fair is getting set to invade the Javits Center in New York City, and while Bam Smack Pow won’t be there (someday!), other outlets are getting advance looks at the good stuff. In this case, it’s USA Today who got to break the exclusive news earlier today concerning the DC Comics Icons figures headed our way later in 2015.
Wave 1 could be here as soon as November, and includes the Barry Allen Flash figure pictured above, Batman (pre-New 52), Green Arrow (from Mike Grell’s The Longbow Hunters), Deadman, Mister Miracle and the current look for Black Adam.
A second wave is planned for December with a classic Hal Jordan Green Lantern, the Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle and a current Lex Luthor, with a third three-figure wave coming early in 2016.
DC Comics Icons figures are 6″ tall and will retail for $24.95 each. What sets them apart from previous six-inch DC figures are their accessories, including big items like Flash’s cosmic treadmill down to more intricate things like Ollie’s multiple bows and assorted arrows.
Plenty of other cool comic and super hero-related stuff will be coming out of Toy Fair over the next few days, but these figures already have us pretty pumped.
UPDATE: In case you’ll forget these are coming out later this year, as I might, you can pre-order them from BigBadToyStore.com, and I’m sure from other online retailers as well.
