Joel Kinnaman Next in Line for ‘Suicide Squad’
By Skip Harvey
First, former Bane Tom Hardy dropped out of the role of Rick Flagg in DC’s Suicide Squad film. Rumor has it that he just didn’t like the script. Then Jake Gyllenhaal was offered the part…and passed. Not a good sign, to be sure. But the powers that be have another on the list, apparently, and he’s no stranger to scripts people may not like.
Actor Joel Kinnaman, who was in the controversial Robocop remake is being named as the next to be offered the part. TheWrap claims to have spoken to multiple sources in the know and they all claim Kinnaman is next in line. Perhaps not a bad plan considering he’s not a household name. See, often when famous actors take on famous, iconic characters, audiences have a hard time accepting that person as the role. They usually just see them as a famous actor playing a famous role, instead of a personification of the character.
IF this turns out to be true, this could be a big break for Kinnaman and he could end up being a household name before too long.
